The PhD in Education course of the Centre for Theology and Humanities of the Catholic University of Petropolis was assessed and recommended by CAPES in 2012.
It is the result of the work of renowned researchers who are part of our Faculty, such as Professor Antonio Flavio Barbosa Moreira and Pedro Benjamim Garcia, as well as others who have already left us, such as Professor Menga Lüdke. It is characterised by its plurality, flexibility and interdisciplinarity. Faculty members’ areas of study cover a range of different analytical focuses and theoretical-methodological perspectives. The proposed curriculum was formulated taking into consideration the importance of tailoring the course to the researches being developed, characteristics of the student body, current structure of the faculty, and CAPES’ recommendations based on the Programme’s evaluation forms.
Research is the organisational core of the PhD in Education’s academic activities. The programme aims to clearly establish its specialisation focuses, as well as the research lines it develops. The intention is to guarantee cohesion throughout activities, integrating teaching, research, scientific production and advisor guidance.
